My name is Derek Hernandez, I'm a bored twenty-something and this is my digital playground.
I started this site as a place to put my thoughts, ideas, and even some creations that don't quite fit anywhere else on the internet.
This place is meant to be a reflection of me and my thoughts. I want to make this a bright and happy place that can be many things, the same way I am many things.
I am many things: a proudly out gay man, the proud son of Mexican immigrants, a political junkie, a book worm, a science nerd, one of the biggest Katy Perry fans you'll ever meet, and so much more. Within this site, I want to be unapologetically me, whether I'm reviewing a book or writing a blog post. I want my unique combination of attributes to shine through so that my thoughts have somewhere to live outside of my mind. You could say that this website is my own little way of making a bit more room in the world for me and people like me.

Why does this site exist?
I used to share interesting book quotes and mini book reviews on Twitter. However, the removal of the Twitter Moments feature and its slow deterioration under its new ownership pushed me to look for a new home for this content. When I first started putting this site together, it was meant to be no more than a new home for what up until now was contained in my tweets. However, I also wanted a digital playground where I could play with new ideas and new types of things for me to out into the internet just for fun. Then, shortly after I began working on this project, I came across someone online saying that if Twitter were to implode, we should return to the old days of the internet where everyone had their own website or blog. I thought setting up a website to fulfill all three of these purposes sounded fun and made sense. Just like that, this website was born! This website primarily serves as my digital playground, to I hope to expand its scope and make lots of changes as time goes on. Hope you enjoy what I have to offer and hope to see you again soon!
Why is this site named homosexual Milkman?
It's an inside joke. Maybe one day there will be a full explanation here. No promises though.
