Tales from the Shadow of the Moon, Volume 2

April 8,2024

For as long as I can remember, I've been fascinated by the cosmos. My entire life, I've looked up at the great expanse in awe. I've always been eager to witness its magnificent sights and extramundane gifts. Today, I received the most special of cosmic gifts. I woke up in a vibrant cosmopolitan city, but things came to a halt for just a moment. Kepler called it the music of the spheres, people now call it a sight to behold. The shadow of the moon fell upon the face of the Earth, itself the imprint of an invisible order as the spheres move about their celestial tracks. Those lucky enough to be in the shadow of the moon witnessed the most magnificent of cosmic gifts. No number of words could ever do it full justice. I have grown accustomed to seeing many kinds of celestial events, but could ever compare to the surreal and otherworldly experience of totality. It is something I will never forget. I took many things from the experience. However, my wish is that as many people as possible experience totality when the spheres align themselves again; and my hope is that next time, the shadow of the moon falls on a better world.
