A Flag Worth Dying For

Tim Marshall

Review

An excellent book for vexillophiles. In this book, renowned author Tim Marshall covers the history, design, and significance behind some of the world's most recognizable flags. From the star-spangled banner to the flags of revolution in Latin America and from flags of terror to flags of international organizations, this book details whyflags are the way they are. It also recognizes the cultural spaces that flags can occupy, from the celebratory such as the LGBT+ rainbow pride flag, to the sinister such as the co-opting of national symbols by extreme right-wing groups in many western countries.
