This is another manifesto for rational thought by Carl Sagan. In it, he drives home the idea of what some have called the "Cosmic Perspective". The notion that the whole of humanity has pursued scientific and technical progress for the betterment of itself and the belief that it should continue to do so for the sake of knowing the nature of the Cosmos. This is a great read for a fan of Sagan, scientific thinking, or anyone who wishes to become familiar with the cosmic perspective.
